INTERRUPTIONS: if the game is being interrupted during a match (not during character selection) by the use of the PS button, there can be two possible outcomes. If the PS button was pressed by one of the two active player, that player loses of the entire set. If the PS button was pressed by an external, there will be no consequences to the external, because it is in the active player interests to desyn previous controllers from the console. In either case, the match must be restarted in the same stage, with the same round score, the same floor/wall breaks and, in case of EX bar users (Geese/Akuma/Eliza/possible future DLCs), the bar must be filled like it was at the moment of the interruption.

GEC CARD: in order to join ITL tournaments, players must be GEC Athletes. It is possible to become GEC athletes during every tournament registration.

PENALTIES: in case of unsportsmanlike, violent, bad mannered behaviors, tournament organizers might consider the disqualification of the players. At the end of the event, ITL staff might consider addictional penalties such as point reductions or ban from future events

Tournament phases

Tournaments will consist of 2 phases

Phase 1 – Group stage. Best of 3 matches. Rankings will be calculated automatically via smash.gg, prioritizing number of set wins, then number of game wins, then direct match. Number of players of the group and the number of players that will qualify for phase 2 will depend on the total number of participants. In case of a 3 players-tie, there will be a ft1 series between these players, until one of the players will be able to win 2 matches in a row. Final rank will be:

1. Winner of the 2 matches in a row

2. Winner of the first match (the Bo3 one) between 2 and 3

3. Loser of the first match (the Bo3 one) between 2 and 3

Phase 2 – Double elimination phase (Winner and Loser Bracket). All matches will be Best of 5. The bracket matches will be determined by phase 1 rankings.

Final event and Last Chance Qualifier

At the end of the last tournament, top 30 players in the ranking will automatically qualified for a final event. The final event will be a double elimination bracket, best of 5 matches.

Players that did not qualify at the final event will have a final attempt to qualify, joining a last chance qualifier tournament. LCQ will be a double elimination, best of 3, random seeding tournament. The winner of the winner final and the winner of the loser final will advance to the final event with the no.31 e no.32 seeding.

The final event bracket will be formed following the order of the ranking: seeding no.1 will face seeding no.32, no.2 will face no.31 and so on.

In case a qualified player cannot attend the final event, we will scale of the ranking by 1 position. The missing players have to alert us at least 10 days before the final event. In case ITL will not receive any communication regarding it, we will count the player as attending and he will simply be replaced by a bye.
